WCP Media Services Expands North American Operations

Swiss company will demonstrate its revolutionary, cloud-based content management and distribution platform for the first time in the U.S. at NAB 2015.

    LOS ANGELES -- (SPW) --

WCP Media Services, a Swiss developer of cloud-based content management and distribution services for media and entertainment companies, today announces the launch of expanded North American operations. Based in Los Angeles, WCP Media Services USA will support the introduction of the company’s groundbreaking content management and distribution platform, WCP Web App, to the U.S. and Canadian markets. WCP Web App is a PaaS (platform as a service) product that provides a fast, direct, secure and affordable way to upload, manage, transcode and deliver content to broadcasters and others worldwide.

WCP Media Services North American operations are led by Kenneth Yas, Managing Director/Americas; Daniel R. Smith, Director of Marketing /Americas; and Brad Maeder; Director of Sales/Americas.

WCP Media Services was formed in Lugano, Switzerland in 2011 to develop a standardized platform for managing and distributing entertainment content using the latest cloud-based technologies. WCP Web App combines proprietary software with top-tier solutions from Signiant, SNELL, Harmonic, Telestream and others in an integrated platform that allows content owners to manage their assets and deliver them to business partners domestically and internationally.

The platform is aimed at reality TV producers and other television producers who create and distribute a large volume of content for domestic and international markets. It is also an ideal solution for other independent producers, distributors, buyers, film festivals and institutions. The platform is currently being used by Sierra/Engine Television, distributors of such shows as SAF3, Crossbones and Ghostbreakers; MonteCristo International, distributors of long-form television content; and Electus, producers of such shows as Style by Jury, Mob Wives and Wake Up Call.

WCP Media Services President Cristina Molinari says that WCP Web App is the first affordable PaaS that directly addresses each step in the process of managing and preparing large digital media files for widespread delivery. “Our web-based, pay-per-use service allows our users to distribute content in the same manner as major studios with million dollar investments in proprietary systems,” Molinari explains.

“Log into our app and professional asset management, transcoding, and high-speed digital delivery are at your fingertips. Activities are recorded and tracked online, so you know instantly (without having to ask) where your content is going, when it arrives at its destination, and what costs are being incurred.”

WCP Media Services will be demonstrating WCP Web App for this first time in North America at NAB 2015, April in Las Vegas, Booth SU14410.

Kenneth Yas is a production and post-production industry veteran with more than 20 years of executive experience. His past includes service as president of Lightning Media, and senior managerial and sales roles with Santa Monica Video, Thomson-Grass Valley, The Post Group and Lucasfilm. He began his career with Sony Video Institute.

“WCP Web App represents a leap forward in providing television producers and others with a robust, end-to-end professional distribution platform,” says Yas. “It overcomes the limitations of current cloud storage and transport systems for professional file deliveries by providing a simple, standardized platform that is fast, affordable and secure.”

Daniel R. Smith’s background includes posts as Vice President, Digital Content & Production for Playboy Plus Entertainment and Vice President, Development and Production for ABC Family Channel. He is also the founder and principal of jimmyCASE, a digital branding, product and entertainment company.

Brad Maeder is a veteran in business development and sales leadership in the entertainment and technology sectors. He previously held executive positions with European technology company Adyen, GoldenGate Software and Element Films International.

Sound Lounge Welcomes Mixer and Sound Designer Nicole Pettigrew

    Tuesday, August 18, 2026
Mixer and Sound Designer Nicole Pettigrew

Sound Lounge has expanded its commercial roster with the addition of mixer and sound designer Nicole Pettigrew, who brings more than a decade of experience, a passion for sound design and a highly collaborative approach to her work. Pettigrew joins Sound Lounge following five years at PS260, where she established and led the company's in-house audio department as its sole audio engineer. Her work spans campaigns for brands including American Express, MLB, T-Mobile, New Balance, Titleist, David Yurman and DraftKings. She also mixed Gucci's 2024 AICP Best in Show-winning campaign. Prior to PS260, Pettigrew spent nine years at PLUSHnyc. A lifelong musician, Pettigrew brings a musical ear to her work and particularly gravitates toward projects that allow her to experiment with sound. Her approach pairs a traditional studio foundation rooted in listening, communication and client experience with an eagerness to explore new ideas and push the creative possibilities of a project. “The best sessions feel like a real collaboration,” says Pettigrew. “I want clients to feel like I’m part of their team, listening to their vision and then interpreting it, building on it and helping push the idea further. You’re handed all of these individual pieces, and I love the problem-solving that goes into figuring out how they fit together. There’s something really satisfying about getting to the end, stepping back and realizing you helped bring someone’s idea fully to life.” Pettigrew's arrival also reunites her with Sound Lounge...
