WCPMedia Services President Cristina Molinari and Vice President of Operations Giovanni Contri will describe how more and more film and television productions are moving their workflows to the cloud in a special presentation at the Cannes Film Festival.

Presented by Augustus Color, A Cloud Hub for Global Productions will also feature representatives from Eastman Kodak and the University of Roma Tre. The event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, 20 May, at the Cannes Film Festival’s Italian Pavilion in the Hotel Barrière Le Majestic (Salon Marta).

WCPMedia Services is leading a revolution in the way films and television are produced. Its cloud-based digital media management system can serve as a production’s workflow backbone from concept through final delivery. Recent projects that have relied on WCPMedia Services include HBO’s The Young Pope, Disney’s Tini: The New Life of Violetta and AMBI Media Group’s Bent.

Molinari and Contri will discuss how the system can speed up dailies processing and delivery of assets to editorial and other service providers, facilitate review and approval among production partners around the globe, and reduce risks of media loss and piracy.

Eastman Kodak Vice President, Motion Picture & Entertainment, Christ Richter will discuss the enduring importance of film in a digital world. University of Roma Tre Professor Gianni Celata will give a talk entitled “Who Will Win in the Film vs Digital Waterloo?” Augustus Color General Manager will describe the cloud’s role in film restoration.
