Winners For 16th Annual Golden Trailer Awards Revealed As The Entertainment Industry Celebrates The Best In Motion Picture Trailers And Television Marketing

"American Sniper" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1" Get Most Wins With 5 Each; Top Creative Agency Winners Include Ignition Creative, AV Squad, Trailer Park, Buddha Jones, and mOcean

Beverly Hills, CA -- (SPW) --

The Golden Trailer Awards, the entertainment industry's best and most fun-filled celebration devoted to the year's most outstanding achievements in motion picture and television marketing, announced the winners in the 16th annual competition. "American Sniper" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1" tied for most wins with five awards each. Hosted by comedian T.J. Miller, the gala event last night at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, acknowledges the work of film marketers and the companies that create movie trailers, commercials and posters worldwide.

Evelyn Watters, Golden Trailer Awards Executive Director, along with the show's executive producer Monica Brady, announced the 2015 nominees last month. The Golden Trailer Awards are presented in 82 diverse categories that range from serious to lighthearted, including Best Summer Blockbuster Trailer Award, Trashiest Trailer, Most Romantic Trailer, Best of Show, and the most popular award of the night: the Golden Fleece Award, bestowed on the best trailer for the film where the marketing was considered better than the film itself.

Explained Watters, "The movie trailer is the most important piece of marketing in the studio's war chest. A memorable trailer can make or break a campaign, especially today, when so many people are viewing these materials digitally. The first Fifty Shades of Grey trailer was viewed online by an estimated 7 million people in the first 24 hours. A few years ago, The Avengers trailer generated 10 million views in its first day of release. The Golden Trailer Awards celebrates and rewards the best of the best by showcasing the extraordinary and talented artists, editors, executives, and visual effects and animation wizards who have mastered the art of selling a movie in roughly 2 minutes."

There are six new categories for 2015, including: Best Teaser, Best Original Score TV Spot, Best Billboard, Best Fantasy/Adventure Poster, Best Trailer for a TV Series/Mini-series, and Best Fantasy Adventure TV Spot.

19 of the top honors were presented "live" on stage at the celebratory show, which draws a heavy industry crowd of studio and network marketing executives, representatives from creative agencies, media and celebrities.

This year's competition drew a record number of submissions, up nearly 17% from last year's  total.

    About GTA16 Host – T.J. Miller
T.J. Miller is one of the least terrible comedians in the world. One of Variety’s “Top 10 Comics to Watch,” EW's “Next Big Things in Comedy." Most recently, Miller’s voice stars in Disney animated feature, BIG HERO 6. You may recognize his his non-animated body from his role in 2014’s surprise indie hit TRANSFORMERS 4, or Mike Judge’s HBO comedy series SILICON VALLEY, which just finished shooting its second season. His podcast "Cashing in with T.J. Miller" on nerdist.com is listened to by 12 and ½ people, and he is a nationally touring standup, criss crossing the country listening to Kris Kross (he's also done shows in the U.K. and Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico did not go well!)). He has been performing his absurdist observational standup act for over 10 years, and has never gone to the bathroom in his pants on stage.

His hour long Comedy Central stand-up special T.J. MILLER: NO REAL REASON and hip-hop/pop/folk music album "THE EXTENDED PLAY E.P.," an E.P. with 41 tracks, and the ILLEGAL ART REMIXTAPE are all available now. He hosted Comedy Central’s MASH-UP, a mashup of standup, sketches and visualizations, and has appeared on CHELSEA LATELY more than most women his height. He got his start touring with Second City in Chicago and improvising with Annoyance Theater, iO, and during that time the manager at Radio Shack often asked why he was late and smells like gin. Miller has been in a number of major studio films including CLOVERFIELD, SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE, EXTRACT, SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD, OUR IDIOT BROTHER, YOGI BEAR 3D (Ranger Jones, his greatest role to date), UNSTOPPABLE, and GET HIM TO THE GREEK. He has appeared on television in THE LEAGUE, CARPOOLERS, GOODWIN GAMES, HAPPY ENDINGS and other canceled programs.

Miller also talks like an old drag queen after a hard night of chain smoking, and thus voiced the character ‘Tuffnut’ in the Oscar nominated animated film HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON and HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2. He voices Robbie from GRAVITY FALLS on Disney and Tuffnut in the Netflix HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON TV series, and GORBURGER, a very strange show you just have to google to understand. He currently resides in Hollywood, California, where he struggles to find meaning in an uncertain world. He is a comedian.

    About The Golden Trailer Awards
Movie trailers play an increasingly important role in entertaining us and helping us determine where to spend our leisure time. The best trailers are works of art in their own right, expertly blending elements of cinema and advertising.

Each year through an open competition judged by film industry notables, the Golden Trailer Awards recognize the creative people who make movie trailers, and the best examples of their unique art, in a gala award show.

The Golden Trailer Awards is the awards show devoted to feature film previews. Since moviegoers consistently rate movie trailers as the most entertaining part of the theater experience, the Golden Trailer Awards celebrates the craftsmanship and allure of these potent mini-epics with a fast-paced show whose frenetic and sometimes irreverent style is perfect for the post-MTV era.

Taking only 90 minutes to roll through 16 categories ranging from Best Drama to the Golden Fleece, the Golden Trailer Awards is as diverse and exciting as the art form to which it pays homage.  www.goldentrailer.com

Production Company Field Work Breaks The Ice With Launch Film For New NHL Team, The Utah Mammoth

The NHL’s newest franchise, the Utah Mammoth, has launched a cinematic brand film that trades traditional sports tropes for something that leans into myth, mystery, and mountains. In a dramatic departure from traditional sports marketing, the NHL’s newest franchise, the Utah Mammoth, has launched a cinematic brand film that trades traditional sports tropes for something that leans into myth, mystery, and mountains. Directed by Zeppelin Zeerip of Salt Lake City-based production company Field Work Creative, the piece introduces the Mammoth not just as a team, but as a legend awakening in the Utah mountains. Click here to watch the new Utah Mammoth launch spot. “This wasn’t just a rebrand or a promo piece,” says Zeerip. “It was the birth of an NHL identity — and they needed a production partner who could move fast, push creatively, and carry some weight, literally. When they called, we jumped in with both feet.” Crafted in close collaboration with the Utah Mammoth’s internal marketing team, the film blends suspense, folklore, and visually rich storytelling to capture the cultural moment of hockey's arrival in Utah, positioning the Mammoth brand as something much deeper: a presence that has always been here, waiting to emerge. Zeerip, known for his roots in outdoor filmmaking, brought an atmospheric, cinematic tone to the project, which marks a striking pivot from the usual fast-cut, high-intensity norm of sports hype videos. Zeerip, instead, tells a masterful multi-leveled story in just 90 seconds that follows a group of kids exploring a history museum, as well as a hiker uncovering a tusk deep in a cave. Those two stories collide with a third of a mammoth itself stirring back to life from under the arena ice. The final shot, designed to evoke awe and scale, shows a tusk bursting through the ice,...
