    Winners Announced: 11th Annual Hollywood Music In Media Awards

    11-time Oscar Nominated Songwriter Diane Warren won the HMMA for Outstanding Song from a Studio Feature for "Io Si (Seen)" from THE LIFE AHEAD (Netflix)

    Film score wins include: NEWS OF THE WORLD, MINARI, SOUL, TENET, THE INVISIBLE MAN; Film song wins include: THE LIFE AHEAD “Io Si (Seen)”, THE OUTPOST ("Everybody Cries"), GIVING VOICE "Never Break" and TROLLS WORLD TOUR "Just Sing"

    HOLLYWOOD -- (SPW) --

    The 11th Annual Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMAs) were held virtually and prerecorded.  The awards honored composers, songwriters and music supervisors for excellence in music for film, television, and video games. Winners included Diane Warren, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Jon Batiste, James Newton Howard, Ludwig Gorannson,  Emile Mosseri and Ben Wallfisch.  Netflix and Universal tied with the most wins in the film categories with three nominations each. Legendary songwriter and producer David Foster presented The HMMA Career Achievement honor to  Kenny Loggins who gave a special performance.  Other presenters included Colin Hay (who presented Outstanding Music Documentary winner THE BEE GEES: HOW DO YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART.) Other presenters included composer guild presidents Starr Parodi, Alliance for Women Film Composers (AWFC) and Ashley Irwin, Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL) along with past winners including composer Michael Abels (US).  Past HMMA winners who went on to Oscar wins in music categories include scores for JOKER, BLACK PANTHER, SHAPE OF WATER, GRAVITY and songs from A STAR IS BORN and LA LA LAND.  Historically, a high percentage of HMMA score and song nominees have gone on to be Oscar shortlisted or nominated.

    Boris FX Continuum, the acclaimed visual effects plugin collection, introduces its 2026.5 release. The latest version of the Emmy Award-winning software delivers a new AI deinterlace tool, four updated AI models, a new compositing workflow in the FX Editor, overhauled warp and displacement effects, upgraded wipe transitions, and greater creative control in Particle Illusion. “As we continue to leverage internal AI technology to build new tools, we always keep the needs of Continuum’s editors, artists, and content creators at the forefront,” states Boris Yamnitsky, CEO and Founder of Boris FX. “We carefully choose which types of tasks benefit from AI workflows, such as image restoration and masking. Accordingly, the 2026.5 release adds a new deinterlace tool that uses AI to instantly transform archival, analog footage into progressive-scan frames and also includes more accurate models on our popular face segmentation and license plate masking tools, as well as our motion blur and up-res effects.” AI Tools Continuum’s AI-assisted capabilities grow with a new image restoration effect, updated masking, motion blur, and upres models, and additional flexibility.
