“Tales From The Loop” Season 1 | VFX Breakdown

VFX work behind Amazon’s neo-futurist semi-anthology TALES FROM THE LOOP. Visual effects are of course key to any sci-fi fable, but maintaining a balance with the naturalism of this sci-fi fable gave the VFX team more than enough to manage. To take point, supervisor Andrea Knoll enlisted the aid of Rodeo FX (Stranger Things 3, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) to take point as lead vendor.

Led by Robert Bock, the team at Rodeo FX gets the credit for breathing life into the more fantastical elements of Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag’s original vision. Four robots (three moving, one static), Paul Schneider’s mechanical arm, and countless environmental elements went into the work, comprising a world that feels both painterly, humanistic and lived-in yet sharp, tech-forward and brand new. In all, Rodeo FX contributed over 700 shots to the series, a record for the firm.

Editorial Board Provides Creative Post For Tecovas “True West”

    Tuesday, June 3, 2025

Tecovas’ latest brand spot, “True West,” is a fever dream seen through the eyes of a young kid peering out the window of a train. As he watches the shifting landscapes, characters, and passions of the West roll by, our young hero imagines himself in it. It reminds us that being brave isn’t about being different, it’s about being yourself. Beyond the cattle drives and rodeos, the West is also art, music, diners, neon signs, roadside motels, and endless exploration. Narrated by the legendary Texas singer, songwriter, and visual artist Terry Allen, “True West” appeals to the universal, untamed place inside all of us that urges us to pull up our bootstraps and follow our hearts. Tapping into its appreciation for the journey and a love for the expansive beauty of the American West, Editorial Board is honored to provide editorial and finish to help bring the evocative film, exquisitely directed by Scott Ballew, to life.
