Writer-director Steve McQueen–whose 12 Years a Slave won the Best Picture Oscar in 2014–discusses Blitz (Apple TV+)
Writer-director RaMell Ross reflects on Nickel Boys (Amazon MGM Studios) which is currently up for three Gotham Awards, including Best Picture and Director
Writer-director Morgan Neville brings a new LEGO spin to documentary filmmaking with Piece by Piece (Focus Features)
Writer-director Jason Reitman and cinematographer Eric Steelberg team on Saturday Night (Sony Pictures/Columbia Pictures).
Four-time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood discusses her costume design for Bettlejuice (Warner Bros) and her collaborative bond with director Tim Burton, which dates back to 1990 on Edward Scissorhands.
Costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini, a two-time Oscar nominee (Pinocchio in 2021, Cyrano in ‘22), delves into Maria (Netflix), starring Angelina Jolie as Maria Callas

    Cinematographers & Cameras
Cinematographers whose work is in the current awards season conversation reflect on their latest high-profile films, and working relationships with the directors behind them, including:
Greig Fraser, ASC, ACS, an Oscar winner for Dune: Part One, talks about Dune: Part Two (Warner Bros. Pictures) and his collaborative bond on both films with director Denis Villeneuve
Markus Forderer, ASC, BVK, again teams with director Tim Fehlbaum, this time on September 5 (Paramount Pictures)
Lawrence Sher, ASC, a Best Cinematography Oscar nominee for Joker in 2020, discusses Joker: Folie à Deux (Warner Bros. Pictures)–and collaborating once again with director Todd Phillips.
Peter Simonite, ASC, CSC, discusses Day of the Fight (Falling Forward Films), marking Jack Huston’s feature directorial debut

    Guild Awards: Television
SHOOT focuses on Television contenders for this Guild Awards season who discuss their work and close-knit bonds with collaborators.
We’ll hear from Series creator Ryan Murphy and select cast members discuss Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (Netflix)
We’ll also be taking a look at House of the Dragon (MAX) and The Day of the Jackal (Peacock)

The SHOOT 22nd Annual New Directors Showcase
Mini-profiles of the up-and-coming directors who comprise this year’s Class of 2024. This fantastically diverse group of directors have backgrounds that include acting, producing, editing, production design, sound design, visual effects, live theater, serving in agency creative and in-house directing capacities, comedy writing for such series as “Saturday Night Live” and “The Goldbergs,” even working in the film commission sector to provide support services to the industry at large. Our ‘24 Class consists of 15 female directors (including one duo, and half of another duo), 14 male helmers (including half of a duo), and one nonbinary director. A total of 25 directors (21 individuals and a pair of duos) are currently unaffiliated with a production company. Five individual Showcase directors have production house affiliations.
