For Canadians, getting through winter feels like war. One bad storm can disrupt your entire way of life, freezing and bursting pipes, stranding cars, downing power lines, and leaving citizens feeling helpless. This past holiday season, thousands of Canadians had their homes and cars damaged thanks to the ice and snow, and had to spend Christmas in the dark all thanks to winter’s wrath. In many ways, winter can make us feel like there is a siege on our cities.

Winter needs a hero. And with the extremely capable new Nissan Rogue, you can be just that hero. To promote the 2014 Nissan Rogue and the performance of its all-wheel drive, TBWA\Toronto created a city under siege by evil, menacing snowmen who represent the worst that weather conditions can offer. Cars are stranded, abandoned and destroyed in city streets, life is totally disrupted. The only car that can withstand the invasion is the Nissan Rogue. As the snowmen wage war on the city, our hero emerges in the Nissan Rogue, using its all-wheel drive to cut through the snow, smash through the evil snowmen, and save the day. And with its seven seats, the Rogue rescues others from all that the weather can inflict.

Taking cues from big Hollywood disaster and zombie movies, director Mark Zibert of Sons and Daughters helped to make this menacing snowmen invasion feel as huge and cinematic as possible, exaggerating the enormity and destruction of Canadian winters. When life throws you snowballs, grab the wheel.
