The Best Work You May Never See: Ogilvy Cape Town, Director Karien Cherry "Keep Rolling" For KFC Africa
During the World Cup season, diving is a familiar sight. A player will dive, falling to the ground, exaggerating the amount of contact and possibly feigning an injury, to give the impression that a foul has been committed. Players do this so they can receive free kicks or penalty kicks, or so the opposing player receives a yellow or red card.
However in this commercial titled “Keep Rolling” from Ogilvy Cape Town, a soccer player’s dive has quite a different ulterior motive. He dives and rolls off the field, to the sidelines, outside the stadium and through town. His rolling journey then finally reaches its intended destination--a KFC to get a chicken meal combo deal.
This tongue-in-cheek diving episode for KFC Africa was directed by Karien Cherry via Giant Films, Cape Town.
