This panel discussion, moderated by SHOOT editor Robert Goldrich, explores Free The Bid, inclusion, the evolving relationships among clients, agencies and production companies, and how to adapt to an ever changing landscape. Participating panelists are Emma Reeves, executive director of Free The Bid; Nathy Aviram, chief production officer, McCann NY; Lisa Mehling, EP/owner, Chelsea Pictures; Ben Haynes, head of broadcast production, sales & marketing procurement, FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles; Molly Schaaf, founding partner, Always Be Holding; and Jeffrey A. Greenbaum, managing partner of advertising & entertainment law firm, Frankfurt Kurnit Klein + Selz.

Reeves discusses the progress being made by Free The Bid in its efforts to help level the playing field for women directors. Mehling and Aviram talk about their Free The Bid experiences and the importance of talent diversity and opening up opportunities for female filmmakers. Aviram also shares insights into in-house production at McCann NY, which he says is not in competition with the agency's valued outside vendors in the production, post, music and sound, and VFX communities. Meanwhile Haynes offers a client perspective on diversity and discusses Fiat Chrysler's direct sourcing of production and post companies and talent, underscoring changing relationships between clients, agencies and production houses.  Schaff shares the business model for her recently launched Always Be Holding, which is a conduit to top-flight freelance producer talent. And attorney Greenbaum touches upon the legal implications, concerns and liabilities relative to a changing industry landscape.
