    LONDON --

BAFTA has unveiled the nominations for the 2026 BAFTA Television Craft Awards and the BAFTA Television Awards. A total of 124 programs received nominations.

The five programs garnering the most nods are: Adolescence with 11 nominations; A Thousand Blows with seven; Andor and Trespasses with six nominations apiece; and The Celebrity Traitors with five. (Adolescence has a 12th nomination when counting the Memorable Moment Award, the winner of which is being voted on by the public. This nomination was announced on March 17)

Twenty-one out of 44 nominees in the performance categories have received their first BAFTA Television performance nominations: Amanda Holden (Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job), Ashley Walters (Adolescence), Bob Mortimer (Last One Laughing), Christine Tremarco (Adolescence), Chyna McQueen (Get Millie Black), Ellis Howard (What It Feels Like for a Girl), Emilia Jones (Task), Erin Doherty (Adolescence and A Thousand Blows), Fehinti Balogun (Down Cemetery Road), James Nelson-Joyce (This City is Ours), Jim Howick (Here We Go), Jodie Whittaker (Toxic Town), Joshua Maguire (The Gold), Lucy Punch (Amandaland), Narges Rashidi (Prisoner 951), Owen Cooper (Adolescence), Paddy Considine (MobLand), Philippa Dunne (Amandaland), Rafael Mathé (The Death of Bunny Munro), Rose Ayling-Ellis (Reunion), and Siân Brooke (Blue Lights).

Jane Millichip, CEO of BAFTA, said, “2025 has been an exceptional year for television, reflected in 124 nominated programs that highlight the strength and originality of British storytelling. From powerful documentaries and standout comedy to homegrown drama and the international series that captured global attention, this year’s nominees demonstrate a medium at its creative peak. It’s especially exciting to see so many first‑time performance nominees, showcasing the vibrant new talent shaping the future of our industry.

The BAFTA Television Craft Awards will take place on Sunday, April 26, hosted by Maisie Adam. The BAFTA Television Awards will be hosted by Greg Davies and broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday, May 10.

Oscar Winners Team In Bid To Make The Definitive AI Documentary

The idea to make the "definitive" AI documentary was, admittedly, ambitious. But the timeline was downright absurd. The filmmaking teams behind "Everything Everywhere All At Once" and "Navalny" started talking about a collaboration on the Oscars circuit, thinking perhaps they could finish something in a year. It was like making a film about outer space or China or the Bible. Like, fit that into 90 minutes." A Sisyphean task "Impossible" was a sentiment shared by many who worked on the film, which opens in theaters Friday. Producer Diane Becker said it was the most challenging movie she's ever made, a Sisyphean task where, "literally the minute we started making it, it was out of date." But they were emboldened by the urgency of the subject and the idea that what they were making might be not just a primer about an elusive subject, but a necessary, nonpartisan call to action. "The AI Doc" is about something bigger than AI... Read More
