    Kathryn Boyd Brolin
LOS ANGELES & AUSTIN, Tex. --

Fashion/lifestyle director and photographer Kathryn Boyd Brolin has signed with L.A. and Austin-based Synthetic Pictures, marking her first career production company representation for commercials and branded content.

Boyd Brolin is a celebrated multi-hyphenate–a sought after still photographer who serves not only as a brand ambassador for Leica Camera, but also as a live action director, a model and actress with a meaningful social following, and as a fashion designer who launched her own clothing line.

Born and raised in Atlanta and now based in Santa Barbara, Calif., with her husband, actor Josh Brolin, and their two young children, Boyd Brolin has a confidence and distinctive style that seamlessly navigates between the grit and patina of the Americana lifestyle and the upscale elegance of the celebrity and fashion worlds. It is that ability to thrive in creative spaces that initially attracted Synthetic Pictures executive producer Allison R. Smith to Boyd Brolin’s work. The two met at a trunk show for Boyd Brolin’s fashion brand, Midheaven Denim, and the relationship took off from there.

“I already followed Kathryn’s instagram and saw much of her stunning editorial and commercial photography there. When she then turned me on to her directing work, I knew I wanted her on our team,” said Smith who heads Synthetic Pictures with founding director Justin Corsbie. “Her work is both beautiful and grounded, cinematic yet totally natural. It reflects her personality and vice versa–authenticity through and through.”

Boyd Brolin kicks off her Synthetic tenure with a couple of fashion campaigns, including an “L.A. Collection” series for Mediterranean resort wear designer, Adriana Iglesias, and a “Weekend Plans” campaign for the natural gem and jewelry designer, Jacquie Aiche.

Representing a director and photographer in the commercial space is an elevated answer to so many brands seeking artists with combo skill sets–a director who can also shoot stills, or a photographer who also directs motion. Synthetic is handling Boyd Brolin’s live action offerings, and is partnering with L.A.-based Stern Reps to round out her still photography representation.

Additional recent work from Boyd Brolin includes a video series as part of her brand ambassadorship for Leica Camera, a commission for Barbra Streisand’s newest album cover, and shooting the Billboard Magazine cover and editorial spread featuring Josh Brolin interviewing country music star Chris Stapleton in Nashville. Boyd Brolin wrote, directed and starred in the acclaimed short film, Mother’s Day, that debuted at Hollyshorts and made its way through the festival circuit, including an official selection of the Santa Barbara Film Festival. It has received several accolades including Best Narrative Short, Best Actress (for Boyd Brolin), and Best Editing from the L.A. Film Awards. She’s currently in development on her first feature film.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Go To New York In Required Effort To Avoid Trial

    Wednesday, February 11, 2026

Actor Blake Lively and director Justin Baldoni came to a New York courthouse on Wednesday to see if her lawsuit alleging sexual harassment on the set of the 2024 romantic drama "It Ends With Us" could be settled before a May trial. The talks between lawyers went on over a six-hour period before Lively and Baldoni left the Manhattan federal courthouse separately and went straight to their waiting cars without saying anything. Lively looked stern as she walked out while Baldoni was smiling. Baldoni's attorney Bryan Freedman said in an email that the talks did not result in a settlement. Mandatory settlement talks are generally required before a civil case proceeds to trial. They are not held in public. Their acrimonious yearlong litigation has cast a wide net across the entertainment world, drawing into the headlines other actors, musicians and celebrities and raising questions about the power, influence and gender dynamics in Hollywood. Lively sued Baldoni and his hired crisis communications expert alleging harassment and a coordinated campaign to attack her reputation after she complained about his treatment of her on the movie set. Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios production company countersued Lively and her husband, "Deadpool" actor Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of defamation and extortion. Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed that suit last June. The trial, scheduled for May 18, was expected to be star-studded. Lively's legal team had indicated in court papers that people likely to have information about the case included singer Taylor Swift, model Gigi Hadid, actors Emily Blunt, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Hugh Jackman, influencer Candace Owens, media personality Perez Hilton and designer Ashley Avignone.
