Director Ricardo Jones has signed with production company JOJX for representation in the U.S.
Originally from Brazil, Jones began his career as a creative in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo before transitioning into directing. His filmmaking roots were shaped by a craft-first, DIY ethos and rigorous attention to detail, before co-founding Stink São Paulo. Based in Los Angeles, Jones adds a fresh, globally-informed voice to JOJX, offering both imaginative visual storytelling and culturally-attuned narratives.
Prior to joining JOJX, Jones was repped in the U.S. by Stink, which continues to handle him in Mexico and China.
“I approach directing with a creative instinct–craftingvisuals, dynamic performance, and cultural depth to create work that stays with you and provokes emotion,” said Ricardo Jones. “My job it’s to make people feel. That’s the only thing that lasts.”
Jones’ work lives at the intersection of concept and craft, guided by instinct and grounded in emotional truth. He’s teamed with clients/brands ranging from Mera and Netflix to Nike and Peloton. Often working direct-to-client, he’s known for turning big brand visions into work that connects, transforming strategy into soul.
Recognized at leading industry competitions including Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clio, One Show, and Ciclope, Jones’ work includes landmark achievements, such as Brazil’s first-ever Cannes Lions Film Grand Prix for Leica’s “100,” and a Golden Lion for Bodyform’s “Blood,” alongside multiple awards for Film Craft and Innovation.
Sevasti Buford, partner and executive producer at JOJX, said of Jones, “He brings a rare combination of experience, technical skill and high concept vision to everything he touches. His energy, and ability to move fluidly between formats, cultures, and genres, whilst keeping a core idea intact, is exactly the type of creative energy we value at JOJX.”
