Jane Rosenthal becomes co-chair of the Board

    NEW YORK --

Rebecca Glashow has been appointed the new CEO of Tribeca Enterprises, the multi-platform media and entertainment company that owns and operates the Tribeca Festival, content division Tribeca Studios, distribution label Tribeca Films and production company m ss ng p eces.

Glashow brings decades of experience working across some of the biggest brands at the intersection of media, film, tech and telecommunications including Comcast, Warner Bros. Discovery, Viacom and BBC Studios. She will report to the Tribeca Enterprises Board. Jane Rosenthal will assume the role of co-chair of the Board alongside chairman James Murdoch, overseeing the Tribeca Festival into its landmark 25th anniversary and remaining a key advisor to the Tribeca brand. Glashow will join the company on Dec 1, stepping into the CEO role held by Rosenthal, co-founder of Tribeca Enterprises.

Rosenthal said that she and Tribeca Enterprises co-founder Robert De Niro “are so pleased that Rebecca is joining Tribeca as the new CEO in the next phase of our growth. She brings enormous commercial strength and a talent for thinking outside the box. Next year marks a major milestone for us as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Tribeca Festival. It’s a synchronistic moment to welcome a changemaker like Rebecca and I am excited to partner with her as we look ahead to Tribeca’s continued evolution and the next chapter of our story.”

Prior to this new role, Glashow was CEO of BBC Global Media & Streaming division where she oversaw global distribution, content investment, streaming services, global channels and digital news service BBC.com. Under her leadership, BBC Global Media & Streaming continued to expand the reach of BBC content. Some of Glashow’s most recent accomplishments include the acquisition of ITV’s 50% stake in BritBox International, the leading British specialist streaming service; the investment and launch of an all-new, international digital and product strategy for BBC’s global journalism across BBC.com and BBC app. She also expanded its direct-to-consumer streaming services, including BBC Select, the BBC’s premium ad-free documentary streaming service in North America, and BBC Podcasts Premium, which is now available in more than 160 countries.

“I am honored to step into this role for such a venerable event and platform that showcases creative voices and innovative storytelling in our vibrant and beloved NYC. I have long admired Jane, Bob [De Niro] and the undeniable impact Tribeca has made across film, television, immersive and gaming over the years. I am eager to contribute to Tribeca’s legacy, while shaping and growing our global community. As we head into our 25th anniversary, I look forward to working closely with the formidable Tribeca team and James, Jane, Bob and our board as we usher in a new era of creativity and success,” said Glashow.

Glashow served as executive producer, Trinkets (Netflix), which won a 2021 Daytime Emmy® for Best Young Adult Series. Other credits include executive producer To All the Boys: PS I love you and Always and Forever.

    Review: Director Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Bugonia”

    Thursday, October 23, 2025

The twisted filmography of Yorgos Lanthimos has by now trained us to expect darkly comic visions of contemporary life, both savage and mundane. His movies have perhaps inspired the most "What?!" reactions of the last decade, partly because they've tried so hard to do so. His movies — farces, fables, experiments — reside in surreal worlds of their own. But his latest, "Bugonia," is thrillingly, if tragically, tied to our reality. It might even be his best film. Though I've been apprehensive about the flamboyant severity of Lanthimos' movies, I found "Bugonia," a chamber-piece gut punch, hard to shake. For starters, it's difficult to resist any movie with a line in it like: "There's Andromedan code all over your Instagram." That's one of the things that Teddy (Jesse Plemons), an incel eco-terrorist, says to Michelle (Emma Stone) after kidnapping her with his neurodivergent cousin Donny (newcomer Aidan Delbis) and tying her up in their basement. Teddy and Donny live together in fairly remote, rundown old house. There, Teddy tends to both his bees and to unhinged conspiracy theories. But as Plemons so deftly plays him, Teddy doesn't seem like a lunatic. He might reach wildly insane conclusions, such as that Michelle, a pharmaceutical company chief executive, is an alien. But he's thoughtful in nature and sweetly cares for his cousin. It's a feat of Plemons' innate good nature that we kind of like Teddy, even as he shaves Michelle's head, to prevent "it," as he calls her, from contacting the mothership. The opening moments of the script by Will Tracy ("The Menu," episodes of "Succession") cast these demented shenanigans in an apocalyptic light. The fate of bees is much on Teddy's mind; colony collapse disorder, often caused by pesticides, is one of his... Read More
