Premier audio studio Another Country recently launched an original promotional campaign showcasing its talents and highlighting their deep dedication to innovation in sound.
Conceived by Another Country Detroit Creative Director Joe Philips and spearheaded and managed by Executive Producer Louise Rider with key support from Cutters Studios Client Services Manager Kenzie West, the campaign kicked off earlier this year across the company’s social media channels. Ranging from behind-the-scenes to original “sonic landscapes” – and also including some original sound effects download packs – each post reflects a unique set of talents.
“Our social media project has been really enjoyable for our sound designers, allowing them to express their creativity freely,” Rider began. “With this project, we really wanted to showcase our audio capabilities outside of our commercial work. The sonic landscapes especially are a fantastic way to highlight our team’s top-tier sound design talent. We have several future sonic landscapes planned with collaborative support from our sister companies Cutters and Flavor.”
“Our goal was to meet people where their eyes and ears already are – social media – and explore new ways to engage them, while showcasing our deep talent pool,” Philips explained. “These exercises in creation allow us to freely experiment and explore sound for sounds’ sake, which is a key component of perfecting your artistry.”
“I’ve really enjoyed watching Louise and Joe collaborate with the team on this,” added Tim Konn, the company’s Managing Director. “They’ve cultivated a great space for everyone to expand their sonic palettes and have fun with sound design for its own sake.”
Across its operations in Chicago and Detroit, along with Philips, Rider, Konn and Producer Josh Hunnicutt, Another Country’s talent roster includes sound designer/mixer/audio engineers Drew Weir, Peter Erazmus, Erik Widmark, Jordan Stalling, Josh Condon, and Logan Vines. Assistant audio engineers include Brett Rossiter, Cathryn Stark, Lucas Hansa, and Nora Strickstein.
Well known for sound design, mix, sonic branding, and composing music for commercial content, Another Country’s work also includes feature and short films, television programming, and more. Notably, in collaboration with Highdive and Cutters Studios, Another Country’s artists have mixed the USA Today Ad Meter’s top-rated Super Bowl spot for four of the past five years.
With several of its credited spots shortlisted for honors in this year’s AICP Awards, Another Country’s craftsmanship also helped Highdive’s “Powered by Potatoes” Lay’s campaign win 2024 People’s Voice and Webby Awards in the Viral Marketing category. With creative production studio Flavor unifying the visual identity for 2023’s AICP Show, AICP Next Awards, and AICP Post Awards, Philips himself composed original music giving each show a unique and distinctive sound using overarching sonic language. Philips and Another Country are now actively involved in shaping up the AICP’s 2024 awards shows.
