    LONDON --

M+C Saatchi Talent Group has launched M+C Saatchi Studios, a podcast and content incubator focused on developing original IP with its roster of talent.

The offering has been created to support talent in shaping and testing new ideas over time, with a focus on building formats with long-term potential.

The studio will initially focus on podcasts, working with talent to develop concepts from the ground up, refine them through production, and explore routes to market as ideas take shape.

By bringing together access to studio space with established relationships across production and monetization, the offering is designed to give talent a more structured way to develop and test original formats, while retaining a focus on quality and long-term value. The studio has partnered with a leading London facility to support production, and its existing relationships across production and monetization will enable it to test and refine concepts as they develop.

M+C Saatchi Studios is led by Emily Rees Jones, director and head of studios, working closely with agents across the Talent Group.

The studio’s early development slate includes a new show hosted by Josie Gibson, exploring stories of the paranormal.

Rees Jones said, “Transforming the spark of an idea into something tangible is a brilliant feeling, and this gives us a more focused way to do that. We can work closely with our talent to develop ideas from the ground up, test and refine them, and build formats that have the potential to grow over time.”

Katie Lydon, managing director, M+C Saatchi Talent Group, added, “The podcast space is expanding rapidly, and we are placing a clear focus on how we develop within it alongside our talent. Partnership is at the heart of our approach, working with talent as creative collaborators, not just contributors, ensuring they retain ownership of their IP and can build long-term value from their ideas. Our approach will view podcasts as 360° formats, with the potential to extend into TV, live experiences, and broader commercial opportunities. By thinking cross-platform from the outset, we position each project not just as a podcast, but as a scalable and commercially viable brand.”

Gibson concluded, “Working with a creative team who truly embrace my madness and run with my ideas is a dream. This podcast is something I’ve wanted to bring to life for a long time, a space to dive into the supernatural, question the unexplained, and share paranormal stories that genuinely fascinate me. I can’t wait for people to step into this world with us–it’s going to be eerie, spooky, and unlike anything I’ve done before.”

M+C Saatchi Studios will be based in London and will initially operate in the U.K.

Amazon MGM’s “Spaceballs” Sequel, “The Thomas Crown Affair” Previewed At CinemaCon, But No Bond Updates

The cast and filmmakers behind the "Spaceballs" sequel including Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis brought a little levity to CinemaCon Wednesday night in Las Vegas, with an irreverent presentation and first look at the satire. "With Hollywood studios merging willy nilly like middle aged couples at a swingers party, Amazon acquired MGM and opened the vault," a voiceover said in the "Spaceballs" sizzle reel, with the image on the screen showing Warner Bros. and Paramount, making Amazon MGM the only studio to publicly reference the pending acqusition at the conference so far. Mel Brooks, in a video message, announced the title, "Spaceballs: The New One." "It's just like the old one, but it's newer," Brooks said. He explained that it was not called "Spaceballs: The Search for More Money" because, he said, he found the money. It was in his basement. Also, he said, he couldn't be at Caesar's Palace with everyone because he was seeing Phish at the Sphere. Moranis's appearance on stage evoked a big reaction from the crowd, but he only got a few words out — part of the bit was that everyone would keep interrupting him, and they stuck to it. The film is expected in theaters next year. "Spaceballs" was just one part of the big Amazon MGM Studios presentation to theater owners, which also included first looks at Peter Farrelly's Sylvester Stallone biopic "I Play Rocky" and Michael B. Jordan's "The Thomas Crown Affair." The newly minted best actor Oscar winner for his dual performance in "Sinners," Jordan directs and stars in the romantic art heist, alongside Adria Arjona. Jon Batiste also played a bit of the score he's composing for the film. "I've been daydreaming about making this movie for years," said Jordan. He watched the 1999 version when he was... Read More
