The New York Film Critics Circle has named writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another as the best film of 2025.
One Battle After Another also topped the best supporting actor category with Benicio del Toro winning that honor.
Best director was Jafar Panahi for It Was Just an Accident.
Best actor and actress honors went, respectively, to Wagner Moura for The Secret Agent and Rose Byrne for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. The Secret Agent earned further distinction as best international film.
For her performance in Weapons, Amy Madigan was named best supporting actress.
Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstein won for best screenplay on the strength of Marty Supreme.
Autumn Durald Arkapaw, ASC won best cinematography for Sinners.
KPop Demon Hunters was named best animated film. Best first film was Eephus while the best non-fiction film was My Undesirable Friends Part I – Last Air in Moscow.
