Feature Director Alex Ranarivelo Makes Spot Debut For SnoreStop

Feature film writer and director Alex Ranarivelo has diversified into the ad arena, writing, directing and producing his first commercial for family business SnoreStop®.

Entitled “Conquer your Monster,” the spot is the first work he has done for SnoreStop®, the “snoring specialists” company Ranarivelo’s parents started in 1995 and is still owned and operated by the family today.

The execution depicts a young girl in medieval knight PJs bravely running into her parents’ room to slay a hideous (CGI) monster as her “mother” cowers in terror. The monster actually turns out to be her father’s snoring. The spot ends with the girl reminding dad he “forgot” his SnoreStop.

Made on a shoestring budget under $5,000, an entire crew of seven and fully COVID-19 compliant, the goal was to make as big a spot as possible under the circumstances and budget constraints.

“It really was a family affair,” said Ranarivelo, who himself plays the dad in the spot, along with his niece as the girl, sister-in-law as the mother and lifelong friend Reuben Steinberg as director of photography. “By working together with what we had we were able to make a ‘Big Game’ size spot on a YouTube budget.” A big part of that was the legitimately scary and imposing monster brought to life by visual effects artist Connor Thomas, who, like Steinberg, had previously worked on Ranarivelo’s features.

Ranarivelo also has a Lionsgate film premiering in select theaters and VOD on Friday (1/22), an MMA drama titled Born a Champion starring Dennis Quaid and Sean Patrick Flannery.

Find Your Anchor, Crispin, Director Kaitlin Scott Stimulate The Senses To Support Mental Health and Suicide Prevention

    Thursday, October 23, 2025

Crispin has launched an integrated brand platform and campaign “Found at See” for Find Your Anchor, a grassroots movement for suicide prevention and awareness. The work is a part of a larger initiative, “Purpose, Produced,” led by SixDegrees.org, the national nonprofit founded by actor and philanthropist Kevin Bacon, and Advertising Week, the premier platform for the global marketing, content, technology and media industries, matching six hand-selected non-profit organizations with creative agencies for the development of a flexible, 360 digital-first campaign at no cost.

Crispin’s brief was to elevate Find Your Anchor’s mission, that each person needs an anchor, or little things in life that bring joy, and drive awareness to the idea of “anchors” to people in the struggle of depression and suicidal thoughts. The organization’s founder Ali Borowsky and her team create a community of anchors, all with the help of some little blue boxes, and the truth is anchors are all around us. A surprisingly small thing can be a big ray of light amid the darkness.

A play on words, the brand platform “Found at See” speaks to the ability to notice the small things that keep us grounded when emotionally adrift and hope feels far away. The visual system follows a simple formula, “I see + I hear + I feel = my anchor,” forming an emotional and physical tether that helps ground the audience. Relying on found art, the mixed media treatment makes the platform evergreen and easy to use with limited resources. It also represents the community of the grassroots movement, patching together the many hands that continue to make an impact. From donating time, resources, and even anchors. Many of the founder Ali’s own anchors can be found hidden amongst... Read More
