    Includes Filmmaking Training

    Oceanside, CA -- (SPW) --

MediaTech Institute, one of the nation’s premier recording arts and digital filmmaking programs, will open its fourth facility in Oceanside, California in September 2009. President and MediaTech Institute founder, Russell Whitaker, expects to invest an additional million plus in renovations and state-of-the-art audio and film technologies. The Institute’s 5000 square foot facility is being completely remodeled and expansion is expected after opening later this year. The school plans to open its ProTools Authorized Training Center in Summer 2009, while awaiting the completion of the MediaTech Institute recording arts and digital filmmaking studios by September 2009.

MediaTech Institute offers comprehensive programs in Recording Arts and Digital Film and Video Arts for those seeking a career in the entertainment industry. Featured courses include; Audio Engineering and Studio Techniques, Producing, Songwriting, Audio for Television and Film, Live Sound Reinforcement, Business of Music, Script To Screen and a Film Direction and Production program utilizing the latest trends in today’s technology. Industry professionals prepare students with one-year programs to become recording engineers, live sound engineers, sound designers, music editors, filmmakers, animators, and videographers with goals towards working in feature films, television shows, corporate videos, music videos, record production, touring events, worship music and the emerging Internet audio/video market. Adult students of all ages learn how to turn their passion into their profession through hands-on time with seasoned instructors and the most advanced equipment. The approximate time to complete the programs is 44 weeks, and financial assistance is available. Students will be awarded a diploma upon completion and given job placement assistance.

President Russell Whitaker is a 30-year veteran in the entertainment and recording industry. He has worked with such legends as Buddy Miles, Leon Russell, ZZ Top, Phil Collins, Paula Abdul, Destiny’s Child, and on films such as ‘Leave It to Beaver,’ ‘Baywatch,’ ‘Titanic,’ ‘Miami Vice’ to name only a few of hundreds of projects. “Most recording, music or film schools take a purely academic environment and attempt to drag the profession in kicking and screaming. We take a world class studio and bring the academics to it,” states Whitaker.

The Oceanside location will be at 302 Oceanside Blvd. MediaTech Institute has additional studio locations in Dallas, Houston, and Austin, Texas. For more information go to www.mediatech.edu, for video and catalog go here or call 760.231.5368.
