    3x Emmy®-nominated Mixer Juan Aceves
    NEW YORK -- (SPW) --

Sound Lounge, an independent audio post-production studio, is proud to announce the addition of 3x Emmy®-nominated sound mixer Juan Aceves to its team. Joining as a mixer and Spanish market specialist, this marks an exciting step forward in expanding their commercial team and meeting the increasing demand for high-quality Spanish-language commercial work.

With over 30 years of experience in audio post-production, Aceves brings an impressive portfolio of mixing work, delivering innovative sound solutions that resonate across audiences. With experience spanning both general market and Spanish-language campaigns, he adapts seamlessly to the unique demands of each project. Aceves’ addition enhances Sound Lounge’s capabilities to offer a comprehensive audio experience for clients seeking specialized Spanish-language work. His expertise is particularly valuable for projects requiring more complex or culturally nuanced Spanish recordings, ensuring an elevated level of artistry and precision.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Juan to the Sound Lounge family,” said Steve “Major” Giammaria and Justin Kooy, Partners at Sound Lounge. “Juan’s extraordinary career and his deep understanding of the Hispanic market bring unmatched value to our clients. While his expertise in Spanish-language campaigns is a key asset, Juan’s talent and versatility extend across the board, making him a perfect addition for both general market and specialized projects.”

In addition to his mixing expertise, Aceves’ background in voiceover and casting adds significant value to the team. Collaborating closely with Sound Lounge’s casting director, Dawn Mjoen, Aceves can ensure Spanish-language casting captures the authenticity, nuances, and cultural subtleties that elevate performances. His expertise in foreign-language direction and translation also provides clients with a seamless way to create culturally resonant content for global audiences.

“I’ve long admired Sound Lounge for their creativity and commitment to excellence,” said Juan Aceves. “Joining this team is an incredible opportunity to collaborate with world-class talent and help clients bring their projects to life. I’m thrilled to be part of a studio that values the cultural depth and emotional impact sound can deliver in every language.”

Based in Mexico City, Aceves’ addition highlights Sound Lounge’s commitment to growing its expertise and expanding its services while continuing to deliver standout audio post-production for commercials.

Sound Lounge’s dynamic duo of emerging sound talent, Assistant Mixers Pablo Ancalle and Natalie Cordero, made a powerful impression at the 2025 Camp Kuleshov competition, earning first and second place in the East/Southeast Sound Design competition. Designed to foster the next generation of creatives, Camp K challenges up-and-coming artists to stretch their skills, learn from industry mentors, and reimagine classic films. The competition recognizes excellence across Editing, Sound Design, Music Score, and Graphics. Ancalle, who has spent the past two years honing his craft at Sound Lounge, took first place for his inventive reimagining of The Driver. “This is such a bizarre scene: you have the main character intentionally destroying a car while he is inside it, so I decided to make the car its own character,” recalled Ancalle. “With AI being such a topical subject in our industry, it made perfect sense to turn the car into an overly reactive AI, and the project naturally evolved into an anti-AI piece.” Once his concept was set, Ancalle focused on shaping the car’s vocal identity. “Natalie was kind enough to lend me their voice,” said Ancalle. “I treated their performance with a plugin called Valhalla Space Modulator, often used in 80s rock to create a...
