Full service post facility and visual effects house formalize a long-standing creative partnership to provide turnkey services for film and television and virtual reality finishing

    HOLLYWOOD -- (SPW) --

Pace Pictures, a full-service sound and picture post-production facility based in Hollywood, and ShockBox VFX, a bi-coastal specialist in visual effects, animation and motion graphics, have formed a strategic alliance for film and television projects. The two highly qualified specialist companies provide studios and producers with integrated services, encompassing all aspects of post, in order to finish any project efficiently, cost-effectively, and with greater creative control.

The agreement formalizes a successful collaborative partnership that has been evolving over many years. Pace Pictures and ShockBox collaborated informally in 2015 on the independent feature November Rule. Since then, they have teamed up on numerous projects including, most recently, the Hulu series Veronica Mars, Lionsgate’s 3 From Hell and Universal Pictures’ Grand-Daddy Day Care and Undercover Brother 2. Pace provided services including creative editorial, color grading, editorial finishing and sound mixing. ShockBox contributed visual effects, animation and main title design.

“We offer complimentary services and our staff have developed close working rapport,” says Pace Pictures president Heath Ryan. “We want to keep building on that. A formal alliance benefits both companies and our clients.”

“In today’s world of shrinking budgets and delivery schedules, the time for creativity in the post process can often suffer,” adds ShockBox founder and director Steven Addair. “Through our partnership with Pace, producers and studios of all sizes will be able to maximize our integrated VFX pipeline for both quality and volume.”

As part of the agreement, ShockBox will move its West Coast operations to an all-new facility that Pace plans to open later this fall. The two companies have also set up an encrypted, high-speed data connection between Pace Pictures, Hollywood, and ShockBox, New York, allowing them to exchange project data quickly and securely. “We’ve established an efficient workflow where work is shared seamlessly,” observes ShockBox executive producer Peter M. Green. “Both companies are led by people who’ve worked in the industry for a long time, in many capacities. In addition to expansive resources, we bring a wealth of knowledge and experience.”

The companies’ joint work has covered a range of styles and scope. For the horror film 3 From Hell, Pace Pictures was responsible for editorial finishing, final color grading and deliverables, while ShockBox created more than 500 visual effects shots. For Veronica Mars, ShockBox designed and produced the series’ new opening title sequence (set to a new rendition of the series’ theme song We Used to Be Friends sung by Chrissie Hynde) with Pace handling editorial and post. For the two Universal Pictures features, Grand-Daddy Day Care and Undercover Brother 2, Pace Pictures provided creative editorial, color grading and editorial finishing services; ShockBox was the sole visual effects supplier.

Established by Ryan in 2005, Pace Pictures offers color grading, editorial finishing, visual effects, titling, sound design, sound mixing, media management and related services, available individually, or as turnkey solutions. It recently provided sound mixing services for the upcoming Lionsgate release Midway and post services for 20th Century Fox’s Ad Astra.

ShockBox, founded 2015, is led by Steven and Danielle Addair, Peter M. Green and James Hall, and maintains production offices in New York City and Los Angeles. Additional credits include Netflix’s Brainchild, Fox and WWE Studios’ Santa’s Little Helper and Viacom/BET’s The Quad. Its clients include Saban, Shudder, Pepsi, Philips Electronics, Cirque du Soleil and many more.

Frame Theory Brand Refresh Embodies Creative Film Company’s Evolution

    Thursday, November 6, 2025
Examples of the new wordmark for Frame Theory, an award-winning creative film company specializing in multi-platform, human-centered storytelling for global brands.

The award-winning creative film company Frame Theory (formerly: The Frame Theory) has refreshed its brand, unveiling new visuals and positioning that reflect its evolution as a trusted storytelling partner. The refresh comes as Frame Theory refines its capabilities to serve a changing industry, after building a reputation for helping such recognized names as KEEN Footwear, Elijah Craig Bourbon and Alzheimer’s Association tell their stories through brand films, commercial spots and digital mediums. Watch a highlight reel HERE. “Just as the industry has evolved, so have we – the way we engage with brands and the creative strategy we bring to each project,” explained Frame Theory executive producer Sarah Nix-Ward, who founded the company alongside partner & creative director Brandon M. Ward. “It was time that our own brand more clearly represented those changes.” To take on this project, the team commissioned artist Brian Steely (Steely Works Brand Design), who is known for his iconic designs for Nike, Element Skateboards and other global consumer brands and touring bands. Steely created Frame Theory’s original raven logo almost a decade ago, which he updated with a modern, simple and yet sleek vibe before dropping “The” from the wordmark. “In many cultures around the world, the raven is considered the bringer of light, so we’ve always felt that was an appropriate mark for a filmmaking company,” said Brandon. “We wanted to keep the raven, yet evolve it for this refresh.” The additional assets Steely created nod to Frame Theory’s style of cinematic naturalism,...
