    LONDON --

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, taking place June 22–26, has unveiled the lineup for the Dan Wieden Titanium Lions Jury as well as the inaugural Creative Brand Lions Jury for 2026.

The newly introduced Creative Brand Lion will recognize the visionary brands that are building the systems, cultures and capabilities that make world-class creative marketing inevitable and repeatable–and the practices that transform creative potential into lasting business impact. The Creative Brand Lions Jury will be led by AB InBev’s Global chief marketing officer, Marcel Marcondes, and brings together a powerful cross-section of the industry’s most senior brand and creative leaders–individuals responsible for driving transformation across some of the world’s most iconic organizations. Representing a convergence of both creative leaders and CMOs, this jury reflects those actively redefining how creativity delivers growth at scale.

The Dan Wieden Titanium Lions, celebrating game changing creativity, will be led by Chaka Sobhani, global chief creative officer, TBWAWorldwide, global. The jury comprises a collective of the industry’s most awarded and respected creative leaders, including multiple former Cannes Lions Jury presidents and pioneers behind some of the most influential work of the past decade. They represent the highest level of creative excellence and are widely recognized as setting the benchmark for the industry globally. In a historic first, Lebanon is represented on the Titanium Jury.

Commenting on this year’s lineup, Simon Cook, CEO, Lions, said, “The caliber of this year’s juries reflects the true architects of modern creativity–leaders who are actively shaping the direction of our industry. The introduction of the Creative Brand Lion, alongside the Dan Wieden Titanium Lions Jury, made up of some of the industry’s most experienced leaders, reflects the future-facing view of creativity–one that’s driven by the cultures and conditions that make world-class work inevitable. As the late and great Dan Wieden said, it’s only when these conditions are in place that ‘the work stops the industry in its tracks and makes us reconsider the way forward.’”

The 2026 Creative Brand and Dan Wieden Titanium jurors have been named as:

Peter Jackson Receives Honorary Palme D’Or As Cannes Boasts Star Power Despite Hollywood’s Retreat

The 79th Cannes Film Festival opened on Tuesday with politics, artificial intelligence and the shifting priorities of Hollywood taking center stage at the global film gathering on the French Riviera. The festival launched with a tribute to director Peter Jackson, handing the "Lord of the Rings" filmmaker an honorary Palme d'Or. He was introduced by actor Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in Jackson's fantasy franchise, one of many notable faces on the Cannes red carpet, including Bong Joon Ho, Joan Collins, Heidi Klum and James Franco. "I've never figured out why I'm getting a Palme d'Or. I'm not a Palme d'Or sorta guy," said the shaggy haired New Zealand filmmaker. Jackson was then serenaded with a rendition of the song "Get Back," a nod to his lauded 2021 documentary about The Beatles. The director sat stage right mouthing the lyrics. Jane Fonda and the Chinese-Singaporean star Gong Li officially opened the festival, with Fonda declaring: "Cinema has always been an act of resistance." It was a fitting observation for a film festival that has already seen politics take center stage. At the introduction of the jury that will decide the Palme d'Or, Cannes' top honor, jury members spoke bluntly about holding a film festival during a time of geopolitical conflict. The Palme d'Or jury weighs politics in film Paul Laverty, the Scottish screenwriter known for his films with director Ken Loach, pointed toward this year's Cannes poster, of "Thelma and Louise," while discussing attending Cannes during what he called "genocide in Gaza." Quoting "King Lear," he said: "Madmen lead the blind." "Cannes has a wonderful poster," said Laverty. "Isn't it fascinating to see some of them like Susan Sarandon, Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo...
