The renowned VFX developer adds Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio DAWs to its award-winning product family.

    MIAMI -- (SPW) --

Boris FX announces the acquisition of Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio from MAGIX. The acquisition builds upon Boris FX’s commitment to providing a full range of fast and powerful post-production tools to creatives across multiple industries. Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio join Boris FX CrumplePop to form a pro audio lineup that complements its acclaimed video editing and visual effects product family.

“The worlds of audio and video are inherently intertwined, and bringing them closer together is a natural next step for Boris FX,” says Boris Yamnitsky, CEO and founder of Boris FX. “We’ve built our reputation on integrating best-in-class tools into the Boris FX product family — Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio are no exception. With a larger global team now behind these products, customers can expect faster development cycles, more frequent updates, and cutting-edge new features, including AI-driven tools. The future is looking bright.”

“Whether you’re recording an album, mixing music, or mastering for final delivery, Sequoia delivers the same level of precision and performance that Boris FX customers have relied on for years,” states Patrick Donohoe, Director of Product Marketing, Pro Audio, at Boris FX. “With Sequoia’s proprietary Hybrid Engine, the final masters simply sound better than with any other DAW. Samplitude and Music Studio are built on the same time-proven engine.”

Longtime MAGIX team members Thomas Wolf and Sven Kardelke will lead the newly formed Germany subsidiary as co-CEOs of Boris FX Germany GmbH. All developers, engineers, and support staff will also remain with the organization.

“Sequoia, Samplitude, and Music Studio offer fast, reliable, and intuitive interfaces that deliver crystal clear sound and audio quality,” comments Thomas Wolf, co-CEO of Boris FX Germany GmbH. “We’re delighted to start a new chapter and supercharge our audio tools with the added power of Boris FX’s trusted brand, deep technical expertise, and vast industry knowledge.”

    Pro Audio Tools
Sequoia is a DAW (digital audio workstation) for high-end recording and mixing, professional mastering, immersive audio, and real-time broadcast CMS workflows. Its customers include Grammy Award-winning mastering engineers for the music industry’s biggest stars, including Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Sam Smith, as well as live sound engineers for the likes of Foo Fighters and Depeche Mode, and Europe’s top broadcasters such as Radio France (France), ARD (Germany), and ORF (Austria).

“The meticulous detail I strive for in the studio also translates to Sequoia for me,” notes Nicolas de Porcel, RIAA Diamond-certified and Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer (Roddy Ricch, Kendrick Lamar, Baby Keem, DaBaby, Summer Walker, SZA). “My visualization layout, how everything is so custom for me, and how I’m routing everything is fantastic. I can design my DAW the same way I’ve designed my studio.”

Samplitude is a complete studio suite for professional musicians and producers. The software runs on a hybrid audio engine, resulting in uncompromising audio quality. Top features include object-based editing, the ability to edit in multiple projects simultaneously, unlimited recording (up to 999 tracks and 256 inputs and outputs), customizable multiformat export of ranges, stems, and tracks, and advanced comping.

A new Samplitude 2025 release is now available, delivering a remarkably smooth and responsive editing experience. The release sets a benchmark for performance and efficiency with instant undo/redo, faster project opens (up to 17x), file size reduction (up to 80%), and optimized memory management (1/3 less RAM usage).

It also adds superior organizational tools and more powerful features such as range markers, which deliver greater project organization and export flexibility, expanded ARA2 plugin support to accelerate workflows, 4K HDPI support for crystal clear visuals, and new channel setups for Dolby 5.1.

Additionally, the new Samplitude Suite 2025 (which includes all standard Samplitude features) boosts its toolset with the ability to create unparalleled 3D audio productions. The 2025 release introduces native Dolby Atmos support along with an ADM (Audio Definition Model) Editor that enables structured management and clear metadata presentation for immersive audio formats.

Samplitude Suite 2025 also adds 3D Reverb that creates realistic reverberation rooms of any size, as well as third-party tools, including Boris FX CrumplePop, Acon Digital Acoustica 7 Premium Edition, SOUND FORGE, and Celemony Melodyne.

Music Studio is a beginner-friendly creative toolset that allows users to compose, record, mix, and master songs in a few clicks. The easy-to-use software includes a variety of virtual instruments, loops, and sounds with hundreds of samples across many musical genres.

Reimagined Audio Engine In Boris FX Samplitude Delivers Greater Processing Power

    Thursday, April 16, 2026
    Boris FX Samplitude 2026

Samplitude 2026 is now available from the award-winning team at Boris FX. The major update gives music production and audio professionals access to a more streamlined workflow with greater technical and creative flexibility. The new features, including smarter CPU management, an improved VST3 audio engine for low-latency recording, a video engine supporting 4K video playback, and the ability to remotely trigger Samplitude’s controls over a network, allow users to record, edit, mix, and master more efficiently and accurately than ever before. “Samplitude 2026 is built to keep you focused on what matters most, staying creative. The optimized audio engine ensures sessions run smoothly,” states Patrick Donohoe, director of product marketing, Pro Audio, at Boris FX. “The new video engine supports modern codecs and seamless playback, so you can concentrate on the project instead of file conversions and audio sync. OSC remote support lets you stay in control — and in the moment — even away from your computer. The new features offer massive time savings while keeping users in their inspired flows.” “Samplitude has been my go-to DAW for over 20 years. The 2026 release is an important step forward,” says Kraznet, recording/mixing engineer (Morgan Studios, Rolling Stones mobile studio) and YouTube trainer. “The redesigned audio engine makes low-latency recording and playback a breeze, and you can now work with GPU-accelerated 4K video directly inside your project. These are huge improvements. Samplitude’s future under Boris FX looks very positive.” New Features Samplitude... Read More
