Cinema Audio Society
The Cinema Audio Society (CAS) has set the date and timetable for the 51st Annual CAS Awards. The CAS recognizes Outstanding Sound Mixing in film and television as well as Technical Achievement in production and post-production. Honorary Awards will be announced later in the year.
The Cinema Audio Society will present a special tribute to honor the late, Ray Dolby, an American inventor recognized around the world for developing groundbreaking audio technologies at the upcoming 50th Annual CAS Awards.
Cinema Audio Society President, David E. Fluhr, CAS, announced the timetable for the 50th Annual CAS Awards. "This year's CAS Awards Dinner will be celebrating 50 years in the Advancement of Sound, we're looking forward to a memorable event and an outstanding group of nominees," said Fluhr.
Stefan Kudelski, inventor of the first portable professional recorder, the renowned "Nagra", passed away 26 January in Switzerland. Kudelski, 84, was the founder of the Kudelski Group.
Cinema Audio Society President, David E. Fluhr, CAS announced changes to the CAS Awards categories as well as additions to those sound mixers eligible for CAS Awards.
