"Past Lives" Named Year's Best Picture By National Society of Film Critics

The National Society of Film Critics has named wruter-director Celine Song's Past Lives the best picture of 2023. Past Lives marks Song's feature directorial debut. Finishing second and third in the best picture voting were The Zone of Interest and Oppenheimer, respectively.

Jonathan Glazer earned best director distinction for The Zone of Interest. Second place went to Todd Haynes for May December; third to Christopher Nolan for Oppenheimer,
