SHOOT 1st Quarter 2024 Top Ten VFX & Animation Chart

This powerful film from Courageous Conversations shows shows key pieces of history wiped away from photos and archival footage--with luminary figures like Dr. Martin Luther King banished from the classroom and Ruby Bridges eliminated from textbooks. Bridges was the first African American child to attend a formerly whites-only elementary school in New Orleans during the school desegregation crisis in 1960. Bridges grew up to be a civil rights activist.

As history vanishes before our eyes in this campaign film--thanks to the visual effects prowess of the Preymaker studio--the realization sets in as to the damage being done in various states where books have been banned and history-making events eliminated from school curricula. Omar Jones of Riff Raff directed "America Erased" for Wieden+Kennedy New York. The VFX work is essential to the depiction of this travesty--and in the process toped SHOOT's first quarter VFX & Animation Chart for 2024.

Also in the quarterly mix are a humorous yet sobering animation piece for PETA, an eye-popping spot for the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and a bridging of "The Generation Gap" for Australian Lamb.
